Armstrong Air heating and cooling equipment can deliver energy-efficient performance every day of the year. In fact, when compared to systems that are only a few years old, the savings can be substantial. The first thing you will want to look at is the energy efficiency for each set of products.

Heating Efficiency

AFUE stands for Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency and is a percentage measurement of the furnace’s heating efficiency. The U.S. government's minimum efficiency level is 78% and the Canadian minimum is 90%, but Armstrong Air furnaces go all the way up to 97%. That means 97 cents of every dollar goes to efficient heating.

HSPF stands for Heating Seasonal Performance Factor and is a measurement of a heat pump’s heating efficiency. There is no governmental minimum efficiency level for HSPF.

Cooling Efficiencies

SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio and is a measurement of the efficiency of cooling products. The U.S. government’s minimum efficiency level is 13.0, but Armstrong Air cooling products exceed 18.0 SEER.
